INE’s CCIE 2.0 Program will now feature training for each of the three sections of the CCIE Routing & Switching v4.0 Lab Exam. This includes the new two-hour Troubleshooting section which candidates can expect to see on the Lab Exam starting October 18, 2009.

CCIE 2.0 subscribers who purchased on or after May 5, 2009 (the date of the Cisco announcement for the updated lab) will receive the CCIE R&S Lab Workbook Volume IV 100% free. While this is not officially covered under our Investment Protection Program customers will still receive this upgrade at no additional cost. All eligible accounts will be automatically updated within the next 48 hours.  CCIE 2.0 subscribers not eligible for the free upgrade can purchase the CCIE R&S Lab Workbook Volume IV for $99 by browsing to: http://store.internetworkexpert.com/cart.php?target=product&action=buynow&product_id=797&category_id. Additionally, if you purchase within the next few hours and use our extended weekend promotion, you can receive an even better rate (just enter discount code JLY10F).

While the CCIE R&S Lab Workbook Volume IV will facilitate full coverage of the v4.0 blueprint, new products (i.e. the Audio course which Scott Morris is currently developing) will not be included in CCIE 2.0 — rather subscribers will be presented with an upgrade path at the time of release.

Will Troubleshooting tasks eventually be added to the Volume II labs, or will they only be available in Volume IV?

    • The vol4 will remain a separate product. Originally we had an idea of integrating troubleshooting with VOL2, but then decided making a full-blown, troubleshooting focused workbook. So far every lab is taking around 60 pages of content, and this means the whole workbook will be around 600 pages, which is definitely not a “small addition” to vol2 :)

Just out of curiosity will the Vol4 Workbook use the exact same BBX and Frame Switch Configs or will these be different? I’m assuming the cabling will still be the same?

    To : Petr,

I’ve tried the Vol4 for RS, that is such a great workbook that provided structured approach for troubleshooting purpose.

However, there is a small issue that I encounter when doing the LAB. I think there are some mistypo in the initial config which do not correlate with the solution.

I have a suggestion to create a thread for VOLIV discussion, to share some experience for LAB IV.

Actually, when the VOLIV will be finalized. Since I will use this to face my CCIE attempt at Aug 2009
