We have had lots of interest in the Security Track updates.  Here are a few of the details:

  • Security Volume 2, v5 labs 6-10 are updated and  posted to the members area on Oct 15.   They include all the asked for content, including LDAP, transparent Zone Based Firewalls, VRF aware IPSec, etc.  We know you will love them.  If you can’t wait for a hard copy, download the labs from your member area, print the lab tasks, and then use the solutions guide on your computer as a .pdf

  • Security Volume 1, v5 that currently has sections named VPN, ASA and HotFix , are having plastic surgery.   We are dividing up the content so that there will be 8 sections, matching the 8 sections of the blueprint.   At the same time, we are updating portions of the sections to keep pace with the challenges of the lab.  We are looking for a couple of individuals who may be interested in doing a final beta test before we publish them (in exchange for some great practice and some rack tokens).   If interested, email kbarker@ine.com directly.
  • Last but not least, I continue to develop the new Security Audio Bootcamp.   Based on early feedback from individuals who have listened to it in its beta format (I know, I should have used VHS or DVD), it is going to be a huge asset to students working towards a CCIE in Security.   You can listen to a sample on Itunes.

Thank you for your business, and best wishes to you and your CCIE goals.

  10. Zeeshan-

Yes. Labs 6-10 incorporate additional changes, as well as more detailed solutions guides. The October 15 udpates have the latest/greatest content.

    Keith.

  11. Zeeshan- We are currently working on the completion of the updates for SC vol1, v5. After that I will be devoting a large chunk of time to completion of the Audio Bootcamp for Security.

Regarding the ATC for Security, the most recent version is July 13, 2009 labeled v5. It is available on DVD as well as in the member area.

Regarding the online bootcamp, I believe the recording has been done for that, but need see what the production schedule is.

    Thanks, Keith

  12. Jet-

Volume 1 will be 8 sections, matching the 8 sections of the blueprint. At the same time, we are updating portions of the sections to keep pace with the challenges of the lab. We As they are completed, we will publish them, module by module.

    Thanks, Keith

  13. Rizzo-

You can expect the first updated module by late next week, or early the following week. These will be followed a few days after by the balance of the 8 modules.

    Thanks,

    Keith.

  14. Anantha-

We have been tossing around the idea of an open lecture series for Security. I am open to that possibility. We will need to see what the current load looks like, once the Vol1 v5 and the audio bootcamp are complete. Thanks for your recommendation.

    Keith

  15. Ian says:

I think it is safe to say that with the updates to volume two out and the volume one getting what sounds like an excellent makeover – INE will not only have the best CCIE Security product available, but by FAR then best.

    Great stuff!

  16. IK says:

    Hi Keith,

what is about beta-testing? will you inform successful candidates as well as not-conforming candidates? when is a start?

  17. SickMonkey says:

Thanks for finally getting Security focused.

Do you think it is safe to consider Vol 2 completed and ready for Prime Time?

I am waiting to start up again until the workbooks are ready.

  18. Anantha Subramanian Natarajan says:

    Thanks for the reply keith

    Regards
    Anantha Subramanian Natarajan

  19. Hello IK-
The beta testing has begun, and I recall you being on that list. Shoot me an email if you have any questions.

    Keith

  20. SickMonkey-

The volume 2 labs are ready for “Prime Time”, and the Vol1 updates are going through some verification and QC and will begin showing up in the member area the week of 11/9/2009.

    Thanks for your post!!!

PS Another student, Anthony Mukomah, just passed the Security exam this week (Congratulations Anthony!!! Great work.) That makes 5 new Security IEs, who used the INE products and were successful within the last several weeks. The new wave of passing the SC lab is here, and it feels like the Security “drought” is over.

  21. peter says:
