Between now and the end of the week we will be releasing our January to June 2013 schedule. You will see a lot of new classes/bootcamps added covering a wide range of topics. These include CCNA Data Center, CCNP Data Center, CCNP Wireless, CCNA Service Provider, CCNP Service Provider, Nexus 1000v & Open vSwitch, UCS & OpenStack, Nexus Live Online Bootcamps, Nexus Live Onsite Bootcamps, etc. You will also notice we are adding new 2 day online courses covering a wide range of topics (ISE, WSE, IOS XR, IOS XE, OpenFlow, etc).
The biggest change that you will notice for 2013 is that for ALL of our new products we will offer hands-on labs and equipment rentals. We’ve made a big push for new hardware in 2012 and we’ll be making an even bigger push for 2013. During the first week of January you will see the new CCNP and CCIE Security racks along with the new CCIE Data Center racks coming online. Additionally our new CCNP Security course will have hands-on labs available around the same time frame.
In 2013 we will be making all of our CCNA courses available free of charge like how our CCNA and CCNA Voice courses are now. Not only will they be free to stream online, we will offer hands-on labs and equipment access for all tracks (CCNA Service Provider, CCNA Data Center tracks, etc). Some of the equipment will be offered free of charge for AAP members and some equipment even free of charge to the general public. The key to learning at this level isn’t to be bored to death with some “professional presenter” going over hours and hours of PowerPoint slides or some low budget video production with a “professional presenter” dancing around the screen. You need to be engaged by watching a real instructor cover the topics hands-on while you also following along on the equipment. Lastly in regards to the CCNA, you will see the current courses redone to allow for this new format.
For the workbooks will be retiring the workbook volume structure (Vol 1, Vol 2, etc) that we first introduced years ago and is now copied by nearly every vendor. We will be moving to a new format that is a single solution laid out in a structured manner as opposed to a portfolio of products. This new format allows for quicker updates and additions to the products along with many other benefits. The new CCIE Security and CCIE Data Center products will be the first to be offered in our new format.
Lastly I will be making a separate post later this month in regarding a new series of online classes that I personally will be doing next year.

If we already purchased the workbooks for IE R&S, will we get the updated workbooks free of charge?
INE,
I’d also like to know the answer to this please?
I really do hope that updates will continue for WB1 & WB2 on the R&S Track for those who has invested and paid large amounts and who are yet to secure their digits.
br,
Idris
You’ll be upgraded to the new format.
Wonderful news, Brian. I look forward to the Data Center material, especially the rack rentals and new workbook format.
Any chance you guys will be redoing your CCNA Security course to correspond to the new 640-554 exam?
Seems like the blueprint changed quite a bit from 640-553 eg. CCNA Security now includes Basic ASA too.
It’s being redone the first week of March.
I can’t wait to get access to these new materials… you guys rock!!
Excellent news Brian! Can’t wait!
INE is a trendsetter.
I feel that INE was lacking the fizz when Brians were not active. Petr used to write wonderful articles and Mark was doing excellent work in Voice.
But as a R and S customer,I used to feel that quality was taking a beating.
When Brian M came back with the new ATCOD and all other great products the excitement came back.
When Brian D himself came back into action , I knew that we are back in good times.
As a very loyal customer I am really happy that INE is rocking again.
To Brians, Mark,Petr and everyone at INE.
Happy Xmas and wonderful new year.
Regards
Ananth
Thats great news, what will happen to the products which have been previously purchased and and now being phased out?
So what happens to customers who’ve already purchased workbooks under the old scheme? Does “retired” mean no more updates, or losing access?
Either way this feels like a shafting for existing customers..
If you own the existing workbooks you’ll be upgraded to the new format. The problem with the current format is that it’s hard to make minor changes much less adding major updates.
Great news – thanks Brian.
@Nadeem Rafi,
I think INE will just change the format and not the content of the WBKs
INE is in this to win it. Brian you and the rest of the staff never fail to impress us with your commitment to excellence!
Any update on following R&S technology classes you announced:
1. IPv6 (2 Days)
2. OSPFv2 and OSPFv3 (4 Days)
3. BGP (3 Days)
4. MPLS and MPLS VPNs (3 Days)
5. PfR/OER (3 Days)
6. IPv4 and IPv6 Multicast (3 Days)
7. QoS (3 Days)
8. IP Services (3 Days)
I mentioned that I’ll be announcing more classes later this month at the end of the blog post. Even with those lengths it’s not enough to really cover them thoroughly and I don’t want to just cover a topics as it relates to the R&S CCIE. That’s what the ATC CoD and Bootcamps are for. I want to have classes that really cover a topic and not just how it relates to the R&S CCIE.
Thats really amazing. This could be a great esp. for those who are already ccie and want to refresh technologies which they are not using to full extent, in their day to day work.
Any timeline for ISE classes?
Hi Nadeem,
Absolutely.
For the 1-day Security Classes:
http://www.ine.com/instructor-led/ccie-security/1-day-bootcamps.htm
For the 1 and 2-day Data Center and Unified Communications Classes:
http://www.ine.com/instructor-led/ccie-data-center-bootcamps.htm
Thanks these courses looks quite interesting. I have seen 1 day primer for ISE and 5 days Nexus course. Is there any chance for 5 day ISE course? Whats difference between Nexus 5 day implementation course and a boot camp alreay run by INE almost two months back?
Hi Nadeem,
We might add a longer ISE course at some point. I plan to run a course specifically that is based on cross-platform TrustSec soon as well (and another based on cross-platform QoS as well).
If you wish to have more ISE information, check out our CCIE Security Labs and Videos as ISE will be a heavily tested topic, and we’ll be covering it heavily there.
The 2 day implementation of Nexus is meant to be much more of a beginner course than our 5 day CCIE DC Nexus Switching course was. If you purchased/watched/attended that one, this may be a bit repetitive.
Will the upcoming 2-day online classes be free to AAP subscribers?
Yes. See this link to the 2-day classes. In fact, the only way to attend is to have the AAP!
What would the cost of the single workbook be in comparison to the existing workbooks?
Cheaper.
Great efforts and the best part that our old workbooks will be upgraded to the new format
I am planning to attend nexus 5 day bootcamp. Do we get any hands on with MDS and N1kV?
MDS yes, N1KV no, as that will be separate in the UCS class.
Thanks Brian for the info. Will the 1 day,2 day and 3 day primer be recorded?
Yes, those will all be recorded and then available in streaming format for AAP subscribers, and also for download as a separate standalone purchase.
Excellent news!!!
Hey Brian and team,
You are doing some great stuff here, releasing awesome stuff! Would you perhaps know when the CCNA Security and Wireless would be available to stream for free? I am already using other vendors, but I really do prefer INE
Cheers,
Pete
Brian or Mark,
I don’t see the CCNA or CCNP Data Center in the AAP offerings as you stated last year. When will both be available?
Cheers!
Don
Yes, we’re adding both CCNA and CCNP Data Center to the AAP soon.
