Last week we quietly snuck into the All Access Pass the recordings of the live UC on UCS and Nexus 1000v on UCS classes that I ran just a few weeks back. If you have never run Unified Communications in a virtual environment or have never worked with a distributed virtual switch in a VMware environment, these classes will certainly aid you in preparing for that first deployment. If you have worked with either product for a little while, these classes will deepen your understanding of what's... Read More

INE would like to send a big congratulations out to our very own Brian McGahan, who just moments ago took and passed the Cisco CCDE exam! Numbers are still forthcoming, but this being the first exam given in 2013, may well be CCDE #2013::1. Brian will be writing a more in-depth blog post here, outlining some of the more fundamental aspects related to reading and studying for the exam, but in the interim, we just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS!! I know that we live in a globalized world, full of virtual friends linked via social sites - and honestly that is great. I've had the pleasure of meeting so many people all over the world now that our world is indeed so much 'smaller' because of technology. I love it. I do. However, when I actually get to really meet those people, in person, face to face, I can't help but feel something of a bit more connected to them. Shaking someone's hand, actually seeing their face, still means something I... Read More

A few days ago, Cisco officially launched a completely new certification track centered around its entire Medianet portfolio -calling it simply the "Video" track- consisting of Unified Communications and TelePresence Video Conferencing products, along with Digital Media Signage and IP Video Surveillance. This track currently only offers the CCNA Video certification, however I doubt they will stop there. Read More

A number of people had indicated that they thought my CCNA-to-CCIE-in-a-Year program was a bit aggressive for those with both family and job life to consider, so I've revised the plan into an 18-month plan, and also added a downloadable XLS spreadsheet to assist you in your studies. Simply plug in your starting date, and the spreadsheet should keep you on task on a week-by-week basis. Here's the link to my previous blog post where you'll find the updated plan to download, as well as links to... Read More

The CCIE Data Center exam is finally upon us, and it looks like we're getting more testing dates than we were originally told to expect. Each of the 4 sites that currently tests the CCIE Storage (San Jose, Brussels, Sydney and Tokyo) each get one day per week to test the DC lab on. So on average, there should be about 4 DC seats per site per month, or roughly 16 seats available worldwide per month. Then, beginning in February, RTP gets the Wednesday slot, and since they are only open 2-3... Read More

The third and final portion of our CCIE Data Center Live Online Bootcamps - Unified Computing with Nexus 1000v - is now complete, and the videos are available for both streaming and download. This class focuses on the Cisco Unified Computing System - both B-Series and C-Series servers, Fabric Interconnects, and also the Nexus 1000v. We use the Nexus 5548UP switches along with Cisco MDS 9222i and a rack of JBODs to configure absolutely everything live in the class, including boot-from-SAN, FC... Read More

We had seen the official press release last week, but weren't able to say anything until it became public today, and now the Learning@Cisco team has finally released the CCNA Data Center and CCNP Data Center certs for public consumption. A consolidated requirements page can be found here. One unique thing about these two is that they don't require a standard CCNA (R&S) first as a pre-requisite. This makes sense, since this track has literally nothing to do with IOS. It also is largely because... Read More

Just about an hour ago, Cisco made the CCIE Data Center written exam available to be both scheduled and tested. So stop reading this and go schedule your written exam!     Assuming you are now back from scheduling your written, purchase and begin watching our CCIE Data Center Nexus Switching course to prepare for your lab exam, as those videos are now available for streaming and download (the page still notes they are coming, and we will get that updated today, but be sure they are indeed ready...
