We're catching up with Michael Hilton, who is currently working towards becoming the youngest CCIE ever. He spent the rest of 2019 in the IT trenches. Here's what he's been up to.

    Hi everyone!

I want to start by saying thank you to my family and friends for supporting me on my CCIE journey, as well as the team at INE for sponsoring me. I've been working hard in order to obtain the CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure Certification.

I've just finished reading the OSPF RFC-RFC 2328 and have started the INE course videos on Route Redistribution. Not only that, but I've also finished the BGP courses as well. I'm enjoying the courses thus far. I like the depth Brian McGahan goes into, as he explains protocols and features. I also like how he takes packet captures and shows the exchange of messages the protocols use. Some of the more interesting things that I learned were the specifics of OSPF sub areas and how EIGRP stubs work.

I've also been taking advantage of the workbooks and rack rentals that go hand in hand with the topics I'm studying. I love them. It's easy to reserve time to use the equipment and I really like how you can load configurations on the fly, even before the rack is assigned to you.

After finishing the Advanced Technologies course, I'm going to take a deep dive into Network Programmability and Automation. My goal is to take the exam in the summer and I think I'm making significant progress.

Thanks again for the support, everyone! If you have any advice or tips, I'd love to hear them. I'll be checking in again soon, with more updates. Happy New Year and good luck to everyone with their own CCIE journey.
