INE is proud to be a Diamond sponsor of The Diana Initiative 2021 event as well as the IoT Village and Career Village! The virtual event will take place July 16 - 17 and feature several keynote speakers, a CTF event, IoT Village, Career Village, Lockpick Village, and more!

The Diana Initiative was created with a mission to provide assistance to all underrepresented races, cultures, genders, and sexualities in the Information Security field. In staying true to this mission, the theme of the 2021 event is “Spark A Journey”, which will focus on the ways in which we can inspire and encourage others.

During the IoT Village, one of many hands-on activities taking place during the event, students of all experience levels can participate in self-guided labs to teach ways to analyze router firmware, enumerate devices, perform remote exploits, and more. IoT Hacking 101 guides will be provided and instructors will be available to provide assistance if needed.

The Career Village is another excellent opportunity for students to work on career and personal development. Various services will be made available during the village including mock behavioral and technical interviews, peer mentoring, LinkedIn reviews, and real interviews with sponsor recruiters!

In addition, INE Cyber Security instructor Megg Daudelin will be speaking at the event! Her session will take place Saturday, July 17 from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm PDT and is titled Soft Skills in a Hard World: Why Your Innate Strengths Should Be a Competitive Advantage. During her session, she will highlight the non-technical skills that are important and often overlooked during hiring processes in the Information Security world while providing an inside-look at her own journey as a woman in the Cyber Security field.
